*What should my child wear to school?

*What does a typical daily routine look like?
Our preschoolers are encouraged to be active learners through a variety of activities throughout the day including small group time (e.g. table time, snack time, table activities), large group time (e.g. story/music time, circle meeting time), free choice, gross motor time (e.g. playground, gym, etc.), and nap/rest time (for full day students). Please contact your classroom teacher for the specific timing of their school day.
*Is there time for sleep or rest during the day?
Full day students are given daily opportunities for sleep/rest in the middle of the day.
*Does the school provide all food and meals or should the child come to school with a lunch?
SMM Preschool provides snacks during the school day (one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Full day students must bring their own lunch from home. Please note that we are a nut-free facility. Families are always welcome to send healthy snacks, such as fresh fruit & vegetables, for the class to share during snack. Please note the any food that is served to the whole class must be store bought and cannot be homemade. Our bi-weekly snack menu can be found here: Handbook/Menu
*Is there outdoor space with safe play equipment?
We have a variety of opportunities for our preschoolers to develop their gross motor skills. We have a fenced in playground specifically designated for preschool as well as part of our school grounds that is licensed for preschool use. Unless we are presented with extreme weather, our preschool students have daily opportunities to play outside.
*How do I know if school is delayed or closed due to weather?
